For this reason, **adopting it in your lighting design project is perfect for enhancing the beauty of the environments** you intend to furnish with light. By choosing **lamps with an essential design**, your project **will convey an incredible feeling of order and harmony.** In this article, you will find in-depth information on: - [**The main features of minimal design**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/lamps-environment-minimal-style#features) - [**How to create environments with a minimal style with Karman lamps **](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/lamps-environment-minimal-style#environments) - [**Illuminating outdoor environments in a minimal style**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/lamps-environment-minimal-style#outdoor) - [**Decorate all your projects with light by following our advice**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/lamps-environment-minimal-style#projects) **![Minimal style lamp - Xana by Karman](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/karman-minimal-style-lamps.jpg?width=960&name=karman-minimal-style-lamps.jpg)**   *Xana* ## The main features of minimal design The **key elements** that make up the minimalist style are the following: - **Straight and geometric lines** - **Clean shapes** - **Furniture reduced to the essentials** - **Neutral colors** If your project includes **large spaces and simple furnishings** that need to be enhanced with light, **the minimal style is certainly right for you.** You can take a cue from the **different existing variations of minimalism**, such as contemporary, Japanese Zen, Nordic Scandinavian, and so on, **to customize and diversify** the various types of environments. However, **essentiality** remains the instrumental feature, which translates into **simple and minimally invasive elements** that make the **environments more tidy and open**, favoring the **connection between spaces** that, not being sacrificed by bulky lamps or furniture, are **more spacious and welcoming**. On the chromatic level, **the colors are strictly white and black**: balancing with natural light, they give every room **the typically simple look of minimal furniture.** ## How to create environments with a minimal style with Karman lamps To set up a good lighting project in a minimal style, **you can rely on the** [**Karman 2021 collection**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/light-revolution-karman-2021-collection): a selection of minimalist lamps that will make your project **unique in terms of design and functionality.** #### Want to discover the Karman complete collection updated to 2022? [![CTA 2022 catalogue](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/3920789/interactive-166319520627.png)](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs/cta/wi/redirect?encryptedPayload=AVxigLKzYdloNTj6dyDaK8vu%2F2o6SNnZmV4kBqAsVyaGv%2BzoZv06ZtB2vwGhk8wz1ZHzv1ujs51UkoItI%2FseynDRgRFhCTlepv4cjyTGAp1qTaQO0pAQhZuUT57pFGPqP4ZRNHkNWzl%2F1EvPPgSuWhqM0t8qsnFssOpklhwIDWlccvVAVsPtCjG9W17unnxWRLNvaj6AxkvHaCO%2B&webInteractiveContentId=166319520627&portalId=3920789)   Let's look at **how you can illuminate the various rooms** of your project in a minimal style with Karman lamps. ### Illuminating the living room in a minimal style with Karman lamps To illuminate a living room, you must first understand how this space is set up, because **large, open spaces prevail in living areas furnished in a minimalist style.** **A nice sofa, a bookcase, a table and nothing else, or a little more**: only these essential furnishing elements should be used, so you don’t overload the environment and you can move freely. To set up the lighting in this environment, start by using the sofa and table as a reference; perhaps you can install a **floor lamp** with a very original design **next to the sofa**, like [**Fireman by Karman**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/fireman-by-karman). Its **matte black aluminum structure** is a tribute to firefighters’ mythical telescopic aerial ladder, making it a lamp that marries design and functionality. Another **peculiarity of Fireman** is that it is an **adjustable floor lamp**. It stands at 215 cm and **can extend up to 325 cm**. This makes it **perfect for any type of living room that you need to illuminate.**   ![Fireman](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/fireman-karman-ruolo-illuminazione-in-progettazione-ambiente.jpg?width=960&name=fireman-karman-ruolo-illuminazione-in-progettazione-ambiente.jpg) *Fireman* **Especially ideal in an open space, above the table, you can install a row of three or four suspension lamps** from the [**Stralunata series by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/stralunata), which includes a white aluminum plate suspended along the cable that leads to a matte black aluminum inverted cone. The latter, reflecting the light beams on the white disc, creates **a perfect light effect** for meal times and for all the other activities for which a table is needed.   ![Stralunata](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/karman-stralunata.jpg?width=960&name=karman-stralunata.jpg) *Stralunata* ### Illuminating the kitchen in a minimal style with Karman lamps Whether separated or integrated with the living room, a minimal kitchen is always characterized by **practical yet elegant furnishings**, characterized by smooth and metallic surfaces. For this type of environment, you can use the [**Filomena suspension lamps by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/filomena/), consisting of a **matte black aluminum cone** that hangs from the ceiling directly where the light is necessary for culinary tasks. You can **play with the different versions** of this suspension lamp **to create movement and diversity**: in the island kitchen, you can envisage [**a Filomena suspension series**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/prodotto/filomena/filomena-se270-dn-int/), in which **the single cone suspension alternates with the double cone suspension**, with the first being an inverted cone, suspended in the middle of the installation, for a very elegant and extremely functional result.   ![Filomena](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/filomena-karman-illuminazione-design-e-materiali.jpg?width=904&name=filomena-karman-illuminazione-design-e-materiali.jpg) *Filomena* ### Illuminating the bedroom in a minimal style with Karman lamps Minimal style bedroom furniture **usually consists of essential elements** such as a simple metal or wooden bed frame, shelves instead of bedside tables, and a wardrobe. To illuminate a minimal bedroom, you could opt for **a central suspension lamp** such as [**Stant by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/stant/): a circular structure in black or opaque white aluminum, to which white satin glass spheres are anchored. It is perfect for a large, spacious environment like this one.   ![Stant](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/karman-lampade-stile-minimal-stant.jpg?width=960&name=karman-lampade-stile-minimal-stant.jpg) *Stant* Another suspension that lends itself well to illuminating a bedroom is [**Moonbloom by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/moonbloom/). This lamp is formed by **a white plaster ceiling rose** from which a cable hangs at the end and a **matte black aluminum inverted cone** is anchored. The latter, **reflecting its light on the rose window**, spreads its floral motif, which **creates a beautiful pattern of light** on the walls.   ![Moonbloom](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/karman-moonbloom.jpg?width=960&name=karman-moonbloom.jpg) *Moonbloom* As for the **wardrobe**, you may find yourself faced with **three different furnishing solutions** that you need to illuminate: 1. Closet converted into a walk-in closet; 2. Wall equipped with shelves and exposed clothes rails (scenographic solution mostly adopted by minimal purists); 3. Built-in wardrobe that covers the entire wall, with smooth doors and without handles. **To illuminate the walk-in closet**, especially in spaces where the ceiling is low and the walls close together with a free side, you can use a wall lamp such as [**Movida by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/movida/). It is a wall lamp with a **double bi-directional upward and downward luminous flux**, in white or black aluminum with a sandblasted glass diffuser.   ![Movida](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/karman-movida.jpg?width=960&name=karman-movida.jpg) *Movida* On the contrary, in **large and spacious walk-in closets**, you can use the [**Sibilla lamp by Karman**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/sibilla/), where **horizontal and vertical arms** branch off from **a central iron stem**, completed by **diffused spherical caps**: through a suspended frame, the luminous fluxes are distributed in all directions. The lighting of **an equipped wall or a built-in wardrobe**, on the other hand, can be achieved **through a general suspension lamp**. In this regard, if your project includes **very large bedrooms**, you can provide **different** [**suspension lamps**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/categoria-prodotto/sospensione/) to illuminate the whole environment ad hoc and create a more intimate atmosphere when there is no need for a lot of light.   ![Sibilla](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/creare-giusta-atmosfera-per-ogni-ambiente-sibilla-karman.jpg?width=960&name=creare-giusta-atmosfera-per-ogni-ambiente-sibilla-karman.jpg) *Sibilla* ## Illuminate outdoor environments in a minimal style  If the lighting design project also concerns outdoor environments, such as a garden, terrace, or porch, you must also evaluate [**the** **minimal lighting for the outdoors**](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/en/designer-outdoor-lighting-10-suitable-lamps). As with indoor lighting, in this case too, **light is a determining element** and an opportunity to give your project **extraordinary scenographic power.** If you want to **enhance the garden**, the secret is to **highlight the elements that compose it** in a literal sense, therefore, the plants, fountains, statues, and flower beds. To bring out the best **statues and fountains**, you can **wrap them in a play of light and shadows** to **highlight the shapes with elegance**. **Illuminating trees and plants** is a real art: plants have irregular shapes, and positioning the lamps so that the light beams flow freely between the branches is not as simple as it may seem. In this regard, Karman has created [**the Xana lamp**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/collezioni/xana/): a **matte white or green aluminum** floor lamp. Its structure **has the shape of a stem** with **a diffuser at the end that takes the shape of a flower.** By placing more Xana lamps in different points of the garden, it is possible to **obtain an extraordinarily suggestive and elegant scenographic effect.**   ![xana-5](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs-fs/hubfs/xana-5.jpg?width=960&name=xana-5.jpg) *Xana* ## Decorate all your projects with light by following our advice Now you have **many ideas for indoor and outdoor lighting in a minimal style** with the Karman selection. No matter the area that you’re illuminating or your design needs, you can take care of the overall scenography to **transform any indoor or outdoor space into a unique and original setting with Karman solutions**, through which you can give a personal creative touch to your designer lighting project. As we have seen, **minimal lighting enhances spaces and creates an elegant balance in a small apartment, loft, or large open space.** It lends itself perfectly to both customers who are passionate about design and those who want to furnish with light so that every environment is tidy and elegant, to **create an atmosphere that is both light and welcoming.**   [![Stant by Karman - Projects catalogue](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/3920789/interactive-166321595458.png)](https://storybox.karmanitalia.it/hs/cta/wi/redirect?encryptedPayload=AVxigLKRM0VT5WzawfMh7J2clcYAxDwn8QVJ9kiSDdcw%2FToweiGEJIo4mMgPB8O42BK084Wkz%2FgoARR%2FJR4ShmcZC5ZRKwYZI0Ua5zFJgzgbQBsPpxun2kYX%2BFYVjFeigYyT7910JaQoQnMQH8AzO866IGZOy%2BAAYApuzzOr1UMgIf1TORJfFTa0ujxXKBFuOx7HySeWgQ4WVNVj8cLpRUlF4SA0pg%3D%3D&webInteractiveContentId=166321595458&portalId=3920789)   #### For more information, support, and assistance in choosing the right lamp models for your decorative lighting project, do not hesitate to contact us at [**this link**](https://www.karmanitalia.it/en/contatti/).
