Bietigheim: how Karman illuminates a restaurant in Altamura inspired by the German city

Posted On 26 March 2019

Bietigheim is a small restaurant-rotisserie in Altamura that takes its name from a small town located in south-west Germany, north of the Black Forest nature park.

The Black Forest landscape is characterised by vast green expanses with lakes, hills, pastures and water sources, covered entirely by tall fir trees with thick foliage.

The owner of the business, Giovanni, after spending eight years in the German town, decided to open his own restaurant when he returned, giving it the name of the place that had hosted him.

Karman for Bietigheim: Via Rizzo 7 illuminates the Altamura restaurant

The restaurant welcomes diners with dishes and recipes from the Italian and Bavarian tradition, to be savoured in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, furnished with taste and sobriety.

The natural wood separates break the chromatic continuity of the white walls, giving almost the same optical effect as the natural and pure light that filters through the trees of the Black Forest.

An elegant Karman lamp was chosen to illuminate the Altamura restaurant in Bietigheim: Via Rizzo 7.

This is a suspension lamp, designed by designer Matteo Ugolini, with a white ceramic structure and rounded shape.

We find Pepo and Maio, two curious birds made of opaque white ceramic, perched on the lamps, as well as special design accessories that playfully recall the small fauna of the woods.

Via Rizzo 7 illuminates the kitchen area and a long table in the centre of the room, ensuring directional and uniform light, ideal for conferring excellent levels of ambient lighting and task lighting.

Bietigheim finds new light with Karman

It is a single solution by Karman, a lighting source with a sophisticated style that has the power to add a different and refined touch to the interiors of Bietigheim, blending perfectly with the design furniture elements that characterise the rooms of the restaurant.

Via Rizzo 7 is both a lamp and a design accessory because, with its simplicity, it decorates and furnishes the environment, entertaining the eye, and at the same time, giving functional lighting to the areas of the restaurant.

In short, it combines the salient features of a lamp used for decorative lighting for a restaurant, namely:

  • It guides guests, illuminating tables and workstations
  • It adapts to the spaces of the restaurant
  • It creates the atmosphere
  • It lights up the dishes with directional light
  • It combines design and functionality

These are the indispensable properties of an effective lighting solution with an aesthetic impact. Installing a deficient lamp model from a technical and stylistic point of view could change the perception of the spaces and therefore have a negative impact on the customer's experience.

Light plays a central role in setting the mood of a room; it is the key element that determines the success of the interior design of a restaurant.

Lighting has the power to immediately connect the observer and the environment from an emotional point of view, expressing the style and personality of the restaurant.

By choosing Karman lamps to give light to the areas of your restaurant, you will confer an aesthetic and functional value added to the decorative lighting project.
