PlastiKarman: the theme linked to eco-sustainability that guides the 2022 collection

Posted On 1 April 2022

Karman has always been inspired by the past, everyday life, nature, and everything that surrounds us and excites us.

Our designers’ creations are the material fruit of their perceptions and as such can only be unique and inimitable.

The 2022 collection tells the truth of our time: a planet oriented towards progress, but still imprisoned in the waste and use of materials that are filling its lungs and extinguishing its vital aura.

We will take a closer look at the following topics:

Let's look at each point.

Agua

#PlastiKarman’s new forms of light

With the new collection, we show the desire to free ourselves from these chains to dance towards new routes and new suggestions, working together for a better world.

Leda, Pois, Abachina, and Agua are the guiding lights of this journey. The 2022 Collection includes designer lamps with a bold concept and introduces the brand's new motto dedicated to sustainability: #PlastiKarman.

LEDA: an elegant luminous necklace

Leda, made by Debonademeo, is ductile, sinuous, and flexible. Available in black or gold, it can take on various shapes and designs, giving character to its environment.

A peaceful courtyard, a large living room, a small studio: perfect locations for this lighting design, which is a mixture of poetry and technology. Its cylindrical rods have small alternating spheres in golden or black anodized aluminum and support a flex led strip wrapped in a transparent and flexible silicone tube.

Leda can be made to measure for your project. It can be installed in all directions, and, thanks to a small metal slot, it is possible to modify its arrangement and shape.

Leda

POIS: suggestive light points

Its name reveals its daring and mischievous personality. Pois scatters light points throughout the most sophisticated spaces and outdoor areas. It is a tribute to the tiny nocturnal population that timidly illuminates grass and flowers.

It is another creation by Matteo Ugolini that echoes the beauties of nature that often go unnoticed by the beholder.

The aluminum stakes give solidity and firmness to the entire structure, and the opaque white resin diffusers allow the light to diffuse softly into the environment.

Abachina

ABACHINA: small globes of light and glass

Abachina is a tiny solar system in which small blown glass globes do not follow any orbit, but remain anchored to a parallelepiped structure in painted aluminum.

Available in black or white, this lamp can easily find its place on the sides of an entrance, or on a porch or terrace.

In the making of Abachina, Edmondo Testaguzza thought of an additional version with a rechargeable battery.

Agua

AGUA: luminous geometric constellations

Matteo Ugolini and Edmondo Testaguzza collaborated in the creation of Agua.

This lamp is ideal for outdoor locations and also designer interiors. It has a simple but evocative silhouette that recalls small drops of dew at dawn after a humid and vaporous night.

This thick-glass spotlight has circular contours and is mouth-blown. It is available in a transparent or frosted version and provides surprising plays of light and shadows.
